Flyscreen Flyscreen

Fly & Insect Screens

We offer a large range of fly/insect screens from DIY kits to made to measure products for windows and doors. With various fixing options and choice of mesh types, we have something to suit your needs.

Why Buy A Flyscreen?

Insects and flies can become problematic at different times of the year but can become a particular nuisance in the summer when you naturally, want to keep windows and doors open.

Flies are not only very annoying, but they can also spread disease, so it is especially important to keep them out of food preparation areas, such as your kitchen. Insect screens are also useful for stopping moths from entering through your windows. Moths are attracted by lights inside your house – one or two is not an issue but colonies of them can cause havoc.

Flyscreens and insect screens fit over your windows, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air with the windows open, whilst keeping the bugs outside where they belong.

Types Of Fly Screens

We supply a wide range of fly screens, available for both windows and doors. As well as many readymade DIY fixing options, we also offer made to measure fly screens for tricky shaped windows as well as an installation service.

Here are some of the types of screens available:

  • Retractable fly screens - like a roller blind, this type of screen can be retracted when it isn’t in use making it the most discreet option.
  • Sliding fixed fly screens - ideal for pairing with sliding patio doors or similar.
  • Hinged fly screens - hinged screens operate just like hinged windows allowing you to open the screens away from the window when they aren’t in use.

Also, several different types of mesh are available; polyester mesh is the most cost-effective, but steel or aluminium mesh can also be used for a more durable fly screen.

The metal types of screen are more commonly used by foodservice businesses – you can view our commercial fly screens here.
