We were appointed to supply and install a series of motorised roller blinds as part of the extensive renovation of a traditional stone-built property in the Peak District, Derbyshire. The project focused on a striking new extension, featuring expansive floor-to-ceiling sliding glazing that opens out onto a beautifully finished stone terrace and landscaped garden.
A total of five roller blinds were installed across the glazing, each carefully specified to suit the scale and proportions of the opening. The chosen solution needed to balance effective light control with a clean, unobtrusive aesthetic, allowing the architectural features and surrounding views to remain the focal point.
All blinds were fitted with mains-powered Somfy motors, providing smooth, reliable operation and allowing effortless control of light and privacy throughout the space. Motorisation was particularly important given the height and width of the glazing, ensuring the blinds remain practical and easy to use on a daily basis.
The finished installation delivers a refined, contemporary look that sits comfortably alongside the character of the original building—enhancing the usability of the space while maintaining a strong visual connection to the outdoor setting.
This project highlights how carefully specified, made-to-measure blinds can complement both traditional and modern elements within a home, providing a functional solution that enhances comfort, privacy, and overall design.
